Good Morning!  I have a few cards to share with you today.

The first one my 6 yo wanted to make a Get Well card for her music teach.  She picked out all of the colors, embellishments, etc and wrote the sentiment on the front.  I think it turned out super cute. 

For the next card, she needed a quick birthday card for her friend Connor's birthday party.  She picked out all of the colors and even put this one together herself - I only helped with the cutting on the cricut.  She's becoming quite the little card maker these days!

OMG - It's been a while!

Where has the time gone?  I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted and that it's December already - yikes!  I will have to apologize, as I was on vacation for 2 weeks at the beginning of the month to go to Puerto Vallarta for a friend's wedding and then we got back right before the big Thanksgiving festivities.

Here are my projects for the blog hop - I'm trying to focus on layouts these days because I am so far behind.  The first is a Christmas theme with Santa Claus.  The cuts (ornaments, tree with snow and Santa Claus title) are all from the Christmas Solutions cartridge.  I added Frosted Lace stickles to some of the snowy areas on the tree.  Paper is DCWV.

Next are winter themed.  On these next layouts, the paper had a lot of embellishment already so I kept the Cricut cuts to a minimum.

Snowman is from Smiley Cards and Winter Fun Title is from Winter Frolic.  Ice Angel title uses Gypsy Font Monogram.  All paper is from DCWV - I just love their paper stacks!

Cricut Circle Blogiversary: Recipe Challenge

The Challenge: Use your Cricut machines to create a project using the following “recipe.” It must contain 1) A Title; 2) At least 2 Cricut Cuts, and 3) At least 3 buttons.


Here's my layout submission for the Challenge.   The brown cardstock to the right of the picture is where I will put my journaling for the layout.  Last school year the teacher sent home a family project to decorate a cookie jar - I pulled out all of my scrapbooking items and my daughter had so much fun!  It was my husband's idea to take a picture of her hand and add it "reaching" into the cookie jar - it turned out so great!

Cricut Circle Blogiversary: Cuttlebug Challenge

The Challenge: Create a project of your choice using your Cuttlebug machine as the main focus. Your project must include at least 2 different Cricut Image Cuts.

Weekly Cricut Circle Challenge #42: World Card-Making Day Challenge

The Challenge: For this next challenge, we want to see you show off your card-making skills in honor of World Card-Making Day (October 1st). The requirements are simple . . . create a card with any theme you would like using your Cricut machines!  Need to include at least 2 Cricut image cuts.

Here's my entry.  I love this hippo he/she is sooo cute!  My 2 image cuts are the hippo and the pond with the grasses.  Patterned paper is DCWV.

Cricut Circle Blogiversary: Sketch Challenge

The Challenge: Create a project of your choice using the sketch below. Your project must include at least 2 different Cricut Image Cuts.



It took me a little while to decide on just one idea for this card from the many I was coming up with.  In the end, I decided that I really wanted to use the Simply Scarecrow cartridge I just purchased a few weeks ago.  The scarecrow, crows and sentiment are all from this cartridge. All of the patterned paper is from DCWV Amber Autumn Stack.

Blogiversary Challenge: Monochromatic Color Challenge

The Challenge: Create a project of your choice using a monochromatic color scheme. Your project must include at least 2 different Cricut Image Cuts.

For this challenge and the first time ever, I have used entirely scraps to put together this card!  The card is done in all shades of purples and uses the Cindy Loo cartridge.

Blogiversary Challenge: Exclusive Circle Cartridge

The Challenge: Create a project of your choice with one or more of the Cricut Circle Exclusive cartridges! (French Manor, Shall We Dance, Cricut Everyday, Pop-Up Neighborhood, or Sophie) Your project must include at least 2 different Cricut Image Cuts. And YES! You can mix in other cartridges with your Circle Exclusive cartridges.

For this challenge, I chose to use the Sophie Cricut Cartridge for all 3 of my images.

After many long days and much preparation, I'm thrilled to announce that we raised a LOT of money for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).  Everyone had a great time at our Peace, Love, Cure Carnival.  Now on to planning for next year - and hopefully more time for me to be crafty and post some new projects!

I do have some more backpack notes to share. . .

Hi All,

I hope to get back to some serious crafting real soon.  I've been a little out of it after my 4 wisdom teeth were extracted a little over a week ago and I developed dry sockets - not to mention an extremely busy work schedule and coordinating my department's Juvenile Diabetes fundraising carnival.  This is my fourth year as captain and although it takes a lot of work, it is well worth it.

In the next few weeks, things should get a little easier for me at work and today the oral surgeon said my extractions were looking good (hopefully they will heal the next week), so I may finally feel like being crafty.  Of course, I have done a little crafting, I'm still making the backpack notes for my daughter every night - she loves them so much and would be so disappointed if I missed a day.

I hope to have a project to share real soon.  Until then, take care everyone.

Backpack notes for the last week of September

Here are my backpack notes for the last week of September.  I forgot to take a picture of the one I put in my daughter's backpack this morning, so that's why there is only four.

Tooth Backpack Note

This week has been pretty busy, so only 2 backpack notes so far.  I didn't take a picture of the first, so here's the one from today.

My daughter had a dentist appointment yesterday, so I thought the tooth would be appropriate.

The tooth is cut at 5.25" from Baby Steps.

This tooth is so cute, I'll try to remember how cute this one is when my four wisdom teeth get yanked out on Friday.

JDRF Walk

The weather turned out to be beautiful today for the Juvenile Diabetes Walk at the Milwaukee County Zoo.  A big thank you to everyone that walked and raised money to help find a cure for diabetes!

A HUGE THANK YOU to a super nice guy and this year's JDRF Walk MC - Lance Allan, Sports Anchor from Today's TMJ4.  Thank you for giving up your Saturday morning to kick off today's walk!

Another big thank you to Peggy, the head of product development (the dept that I work in), for speaking.

There were over 7,000 walkers signed up for this year walk!

JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes

Hi Everyone!

Work has been crazy hectic this week, so that's why I haven't done any posts.

No posts tomorrow either, because I will be at the Juvenile Diabetes Walk To Cure Diabetes at the Milwaukee County Zoo.  The walk is always such a great time and of course, it's also for a great cause.

Here are some pics from last year.  I will post some pics from this year later on.

This year my friend and former co-worker (Lance Allan) is the MC at the Walk!  Thank you Lance for agreeing to volunteer your time.  We all greatly appreciate your contribution.
