Christmas in July - Christmas Card Blog Hop

Welcome to the Christmas in July Blog Hop!  Each Saturday of the month there will be a different hop featuring holiday themed projects.  We have a great line-up of talented Cricut crafters who will be sharing their creativity with you today. And, we have a giveaway - a Christmas Cards cartridge!  You can earn entries by following and commenting on each of the blogs in the hop. You get one entry for each comment!

If you arrived here from Diane's blog you're in the right spot.  If not, you'll definitely want to start at the beginning with Paulette http://scrapalette.blogspot.com/ so you don't miss any of the fabulous projects.

Now on to my projects:

For the first Card, I decided to use blues as my main color palette.  The pattern paper is from DCWV Winter Combo Matstack.  The snowman is cut from Winter Woodland at 2.7".  Snowflakes are cut at 2" from Accent Essentials.  I used the iRock to adhere 2 blue and 1 green gem to the snowflakes to add a little sparkle.  Broken China Distressed Ink was used on the edges of the light blue square.  Finally, pop dots were used to adhere this friendly little guy.

This next card I used more traditional Christmas colors.  Pattern paper is from DCWV The Christmas Matstack.  Santa is cut at 2.5" from the Christmas Solutions cartridge and white flocking was added to his hat and beard.  He is adhered with pop dots for added dimension.  The circles were cut in graduating sizes from Plantin Schoolbook.  The smallest circle was cut from white paper and colored with Peeled Paint Distressed Ink to give it a shaded look.  Prima Flower poinsettias and 3 black iRock gems were added as finishing touches to help balance the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Your next stop on the hop is Linda at http://ladybuglair.blogspot.com/. But before you go, be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win this week's cartridge giveaway.

On a roll...

Today I managed to get motivated and complete 4 more pages.  If I can keep up this pace the next few days, I should have my friends' album done by the end of the week (fingers crossed).

Paper is DCWV The Guy Stack.  The scallop circle is Cricut Craft Room Basics and the phrase frame is printed with the Imagine Kate's Kitchen cartridge.  The phrase was printed from my photo printer onto the frame.

Paper is some old paper from Hot off the Press / Paper Pizazz that I've had in my stash.  The angel is cut from the Christmas Solutions cartridge.

Patterned paper from DCWV The Guy Stack and solid is from DCWV the Bright Stack.  Font is Mickey Font.

This last layout is scraplifted from the Cricut Design Team.  Cartridges used are Accent Essentials for the scallop square, Plantin Schoolbook for "a Boy's" and the remainder of the cuts are from Stand and Salute.

Five More Layouts to Share

I'm still on a roll and have some more layouts to share.  I have 19 done so far for my friends' album and guessing I have about 18 left to go - yikes!

This one is scraplifted from Sara Andrews - using DCWV Heirloom Christmas Stack.  I loved Sara's simple layout that used the paper as the focal point, so I just had to do my own similar layout.  No Cricut cuts on this one.

This next layout uses cuts from Christmas Solutions (tree), Plantin Schoolbook (the circle) and Winter Frolic (phrase) cartridges,

Christmas Solutions was used for the rocking horse.  The middle horse was flipped using the Gypsy.

Phrase is from Winter Woodland.  One of the snowflakes is from Accent Essentials but I can't remember what cartridge the other one is on.  For the white scalloped layer, I took 4 scalloped squares (from Kate's ABCs) and welded them together with the gypsy so that the scallops were smaller - if you just enlarge one scalloped squares the scalloped end up being stretched.

For this last layout, I believe "Santa" is cut from Christmas Solutions.

Teddy Bear Birthday Card

Hi!

Just wanted to share a quick birthday card with you tonight.  Card base is Kraft paper and I used the Gypsy to weld two hexagons (4.5") from Accent Essentials to make the card.  Teddy Bear (3.0") is from Create a Critter cartridge.  Black gems are iRock and patterned paper is Recollections Mosaic Memories.  Sentiment stamp is Ticketed from Stampology.
